On January 5, 2017 the Arizona Republic published a “My Turn” editorial piece written by PLEA President Ken Crane explaining some of the nuts and bolts of the current PD staffing crisis to the Citizens of Phoenix as well as what needs to be done to fix it. PLEA will continue to use various avenues to spotlight this problem until hiring and staffing are at proper levels.
