On January 28, 2015, the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, in conjunction with the Phoenix Police Sergeants and Lieutenants Association and Phoenix Fire Department Local 493, held a press conference for the purpose of raising awareness with regard to the exploitation of minors with regard to sex trafficking and prostitution. In addition to raising awareness, the event was a partnership with Girl Scout Troop 2176, which is engaged in a service project to supply much-needed personal hygiene products to StreetLightUSA, which is a nonprofit organization founded to help young women escape the vicious cycle of child sex trafficking. Many supplies have been donated, but many more are still needed. PLEA would like to extend special recognition to Ms. Francis Tesmer, who was present representing the corporate offices of Rolfs Salons. Rolfs donated $25,000 in personal hygiene products to StreetLightUSA.

Anyone wishing to contribute to this drive can bring donations to the offices of the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, located at 1102 W. Adams Street, where they will be accepted till February 28. The PLEA office staff can be contacted at (602) 246-7869.
