Benefit Cookout Raises over $100,000!

On Thursday, March 6th PLEA, in conjunction with PPSLA, Mayor Greg Stanton, Phoenix Police Chief Daniel Garcia, and City Councilmen Daniel Valenzuela, and Michael Nowakowski held a benefit cookout at the PLEA Garage Grill for the families of Detective John Hobbs and Detective AJ Casados.

The community response to this event was phenomenal and because of the huge outpouring of support, we were able to raise over $100,000, all which will go directly to the Hobbs and Casados families through PLEA Charities.  Additional money is expected to be collected as mail and electronic transfers come through.

PLEA would like to thank everyone who showed up at the benefit cookout and sat down to eat, grabbed a takeout container, or simply dropped money into one of the donation boxes. We express our gratitude to all of you.

PLEA would also like to thank Phoenix Police Explorer Post 2906, the Phoenix Fire Department, numerous Law Enforcement Officers, businesses, and individuals who donated their time, efforts, as well as food and beverages.  Without your contributions and a team effort, we would not have been able to pull this off.

Thank you again for your generosity and the amazing outpouring of support we have received through this very difficult time.
