City Council Meeting on May 7th

The video below is an updated video message from PLEA President Joe Clure and PLEA Treasurer Will Buividas, which was filmed this morning and contains the most updated information.  We can not stress how important it is that EVERYONE shows up tomorrow at City Council.  We are hearing that Unit 2 is settling (however it has not been confirmed) and if that is true, we will have our vote at 3:30 pm, so please come to the Council Chambers when you get off of work.  Also, like last time, public comment will be allowed and you are encouraged to make comments to the City Council. We are also asking that you please donate those extra 6.6 hours of vacation time back to the PLEA bank.  You can send the forms directly to PLEA and we will turn them into Fiscal.  You do not understand how critically important it is for PLEA to have those EXTRA vacation hours in order to continue to serve your needs.

On Wednesday May 7, 2014 the City Council will make a final decision on the MOU.  We need double or triple the people who showed up on April 30th to show up tomorrow, May 7th.  This is crucial!  Once again, everyone needs to commit to show up and bring as many people as you can with you.  We would like to fill up the entire pavilion with black t-shirts. If you came on April 30th, please bring the shirt we gave you and we will have more shirts for those who do not have one.

The meeting will start at 3:30 pm and we have been told by the Mayor’s office they intend to start the regular meeting at 1:30 pm and MOU hearings will begin promptly at 3:30 pm. As was the acse on April 30th, Unit 2 will go first.
