PLEA Attends the Dedication Ceremony for the David V. Glasser Historical Marker

On May 18, 2016, Phoenix Police Officer David V. Glasser, 8144, and members of the 81X Squad responded to a burglary call in the area of 4800 West Baseline Road.  Officer Glasser was shot and critically wounded by the suspect and succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Today, at approximately 1000 hours, as part of a tradition which began over fifteen years ago, a historical marker was placed on a light post near the scene of the incident.

You will find markers with the names and End of Watch dates of thirty-eight Phoenix Police Officers all over the city.  They serve to remind the community, as well as our officers, of the sacrifices made by those who protect and serve the community.
