On Saturday, September 2, 2017, the third annual Superhero September kicked off at the ChildHelp Children’s Center/Phoenix Police Department’s Family Investigations Bureau, located at 2120 North Central Avenue.
Superhero September was conceived in 2015 by Phoenix Police Detective Sean Reavie of the Phoenix Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit to empower children suffering from physical and sexual abuse. As victims of some of the most heinous and despicable crimes one can imagine, their right to be a little kid was taken from them. However, through this event, all of us have the ability to give it back and empower them.
PLEA has been an integral part of this event since its inception. What began as a monetary donation from PLEA Charities has evolved into PLEA providing additional resources for the event including grills and food. This year, PLEA Charities made a $1000 dollar donation to the cause.
