PLEA Supports our 911 Call Takers and Police Communications Operators

Every year during the second week of April, public safety telecommunications personnel are honored across the Country.  National Public Telecommunicators Week was originally started in 1981, by Patricia Anderson, of the Contra Costa County, California Sheriff’s Office as a time to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving the public.

As we all know, call takers and dispatchers form the critical link between the citizens we serve and our officers on the street by providing a two-way flow of important information under what are sometimes extremely stressful conditions.

As a show of appreciation, PLEA has historically provided meals for our communications personnel during National Public Telecommunicators Week and today, all three shifts received a special delivery from the Olive Garden Restaurant.

As a Bureau we sincerely appreciate everything you do for us on an on going basis, especially during National Telecommunications Week.  Thank you so much for the generous delivery of lunch/dinner for all three shifts.
