Rifle Raffle Nets over $7000 for the 81X Squad

On Saturday, March 11, 2017, a fundraiser cookout was held at the Phoenix Police Department’s Air Unit at the Deer Valley Airport to help send fallen Phoenix Police Officer David Glasser’s Squad to Washington, DC for Police Week 2017, where his name will be inscribed on the National Law Enforcement Memorial and read during the Candlelight Vigil.

A Heckler and Koch MR556A1 rifle donated to PLEA was raffled off and won by Phoenix Homicide Unit Sergeant Adam Barrett.

PLEA presented Executive Assistant Chief Mike Kurtenbach with a check for the total proceeds from the raffle, which were just over $7000.  This check will be given to the Phoenix Police Foundation to help Officer Glasser’s squad offset the cost of the trip to Washington.
