On Wednesday, March 2, 2011, PLEA received the following communication expressing support and encouragement from former Phoenix Police Officer and PLEA member Mark Wilcox.
Mark,
I just wanted to take a few minutes to tell you how proud I am of what you and the rest of the PLEA Board are doing to combat the corruption within the Phoenix Police Department. I regularly check the PLEA website to keep updated on matters taking place within the department. I am no longer a part of that organization, but have several close friends who are and also spent a majority of my Law Enforcement career with the Phoenix Police Department. It is re-assuring to know that the rank and file (“frontline”) have such a competent and caring spokesperson. In the short time you have been the “voice” of the men and women that represent the Phoenix Police Department, it is apparent that the Phoenix Police Department is finally moving in the right direction.
It was, and continues to be a honor knowing you and many of the other PLEA Members who give of their time to make sure Phoenix Police Officers have a voice and those in supervisory roles are held accountable for actions. I know it is a selfless job and on many occasions may seem disheartening, but be assured that looking from the outside in; you are making a difference.
Keep up the good fight.
Regards,
Mark A. Wilcox
