March 13th marks the 50th anniversary of the arrest of Ernesto Miranda, which led to the United States Supreme Court ruling, which would ultimately affect the law enforcement profession in regards to how interviews of criminal suspects were conducted. In conjunction with this anniversary, the Phoenix Police Museum will unveil a special exhibit to recognize this milestone event. The exhibit has been assembled by Museum Curator and Retired Lieutenant Mike Nikolin and Retired Detective Carroll Cooley, the original investigator involved in the Miranda incident. An authentic aspect of this exhibit is that it is located within the room where the actual interrogation occurred. On March 12, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm the Museum will hold a special viewing of this exhibit for law enforcement officers and their families and the Museum will open the exhibit to the public on March 13 from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.
