On March 17, 2009, National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) President Tommy Nee addressed a Senate Subcommittee on crime, drugs and International Narcotics control.
PLEA is one of many law enforcement organizations from across the nation that is a member of NAPO which gives us a political voice on a national level.
The address was given specifically to the Subcommittee on Crime and Drugs, Caucus on International Narcotics Control. The focus of Tommy’s remarks was “Law Enforcement Responses to Mexican Drug Cartels.”
Tommy addressed the issues of illegal immigration, border security, kidnappings, drug trafficking, drug cartel violence and the 287G issue with a direct no punches pulled style.
PLEA provided direct input to NAPO on these crucial issues prior to the address being made to the subcommittee. PLEA would like to thank NAPO for its support on these very important issues and would encourage all Officers to call and express their thanks to NAPO for addressing issues of importance to us.
