Many have expressed concern that SB 1070 gives Phoenix and Arizona a bad reputation. But yet twice this week, national media has highlighted the problem with high paid government officials who are “gaming” the system. At the top of two national lists: Jack Harris. This media exposure doesn’t seem to lend to a positive image nor does it appear to be in line with the “best run city.” There are many in the State legislature who struggle with the pension system being taken advantage of and would not think twice about severe restrictions and changes to the system. One wonders if Jack Harris will be down at the legislature with PLEA this session protecting a wounded public safety pension system.
