Recently, a memo was authored by Deputy Fire Chief Brian Tobin on City letterhead reference the pension system and proposed changes to the system. The recommendations contained in the memo are those recommended by the PSPRS board and by the FIRE union. These are not PLEA’s or any other law enforcement groups position nor is it the position of the City of Phoenix reference our pension system. This was an extremely inappropriate use of City letterhead that was quickly addressed by City Management. PLEA is currently working with key legislators in an attempt to ensure that any changes made to the pension system will not affect current employees or retirees in a negative way.
