On Tuesday, December 14th, 2010, CBS News 5 broke a story reference an investigation by federal authorities into whether or not the Phoenix Police Department may have inflated kidnapping numbers to obtain 1.7M dollars in federal stimulus monies. PLEA, along with other members of the department, have questioned the validity of reported kidnap numbers for some time now. It would appear that federal authorities are beginning to share these same concerns.
