The Patrol rifle surveys are in and the results have been tabulated. Thanks to all who took the time to participate. Your input is appreciated and valued.
Members of the PLEA board met with Asst. Chief Kevin Robinson along with Commanders Hampton and Faulkner at the PLEA office on November 7th to share the results and discuss future options.
PLEA is confident that the hard data compiled will be a valuable tool to facilitate the expansion of the patrol rifle program to eventually include some type of private purchase option.
Asst. Chief Robinson communicated to the board members present that he would take the information provided to Executive Asst. Chief Tom Lannon.
Asst. Chief Robinson further stated that he would recommend that the department allow for the private purchase of up to 200 patrol rifles for a one year evaluation period.
