PLEA met with Councilman Mike Johnson on Wednesday, April 15. Councilman Johnson spoke with Assistant Chief Tom Lannon about retirees serving in a reserve capacity for the police department.
Councilman Johnson directed PLEA to communicate to PLEA members that retired officers will not be excluded from the Reserve Bureau. Retired officers will be allowed to serve as Phoenix Police Reserve Officers.
Councilman Johnson recognizes the value in the experience retired officers bring to the citizens of Phoenix as reserve officers, especially in these challenging economic times. He is a friend of Phoenix Police Officers.
