On Thursday August 11th, 2011 PLEA Chief Contract Negotiator Will Buividas and PLEA Treasurer Joe Clure met with Assistant Police Chief Blake McClelland to discuss the proposed tattoo policy. Good dialogue was exchanged by both sides reference the proposed policy. Chief McClelland appeared to be sincere in his desire to come to a workable solution on the tattoo issue. On Monday August 15th, 2011 PLEA was informed by Chief McClelland that the proposed tattoo policy is “on hold” indefinitely. PLEA would like to thank Chief McClelland for his willingness to work with rank and file officers.
Officers DO NOT need to purchase additional uniform items at this time and the current policy will remain in place (tattoos allowed to be shown on the arms, etc.).
