Recently Fox 10 news anchor Troy Hayden, along with community activist Reverend Jarrett Maupin, attended a training session hosted by the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office. Both were put through basic police use of force training scenarios of the type that would typically be given to new recruits going through a police academy. These basic scenarios demonstrate how seemingly normal situations can change in the blink of an eye. This is a great example of how police officers who are often thrust into situations not of their own choosing with only split seconds to react are then judged by managers and citizens who have days and weeks to evaluate and monday morning quarterback from the comfort of an office or living room.
