FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NPPGov Public Safety GPO Partners with the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association

SEATTLE, WA – NPPGov Public Safety GPO is proud to announce a direct partnership with the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (PLEA). NPPGov is a leader in Public Safety cooperative purchasing, including law enforcement.

Phoenix Law Enforcement Association Secretary John Maxwell has been working with Mika Kawakami, Association Manager for Public Safety GPO, to provide competitive cooperative options to PLEA members.

NPPGov currently offers over 100 publicly procured agreements for products and services, along with a discount program for individual members from over 20 vendors, Axon, GearGrid, Zoll and more. NPPGov owns all their own agreements with most being publicly solicited and awarded by a Lead Public Agency.

“PLEA is excited to partner directly with Public Safety GPO to offer our members discounts which will save them time and money on products they use every day.” “We feel a direct relationship with Public Safety GPO benefits our members and our profession.”

PLEA was formed in 1975 as the Professional Association of Phoenix Police Officers and serves as the certified bargaining unit for rank and file Phoenix Police Officers.  PLEA currently represents approximately 2300 Phoenix Police Officers and Detectives and PLEA’s Board of eleven Trustees acts as the voice of these officers on local, state and national issues.  The PLEA Board and Association Representatives provide member representation with regards to wages, benefits, and working conditions as well as representation pertaining to discipline and grievances.

“We see a real need to offer organizations, like Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, the opportunity to secure national contracted pricing based on the buying power of our 45,000 member organizations,” said Bill DeMars, Executive Director of NPPGov.

About NPPGov

NPPGov Public Safety GPO is a program of NPPGov, a national cooperative procurement organization offering publicly solicited contracts to public safety departments nationwide. NPPGov contracts are created through a public RFP process by a Lead Public Agency, allowing members to “piggyback” on the contracts thus eliminating the need to complete their own RFP process. NPPGov Public Safety GPO staff and legal counsel facilitate the process, providing necessary documentation and support.

NPPGov membership is free with no obligation to purchase. All members have access to a broad range of publicly solicited contracts with discounted pricing, as well as individual discount programs. NPPGov is owned by non-profit hospitals and a substantial portion of proceeds help support medical research at Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason (BRI) in Seattle, WA.
