On September 16, 2010 PLEA President Mark Spencer, Executive Board members Ken Crane, David Kothe, PLEA Legislative liaison Dr. Levi Bolton, met with Houston Police Officer’s Associaton Executive Director Mark Clark and prominent national political analyst Hank Scheinkopf to discuss law enforcement issues affecting border states and the rank and file men and women most likely to be affected by these issues. A meeting to bring together police labor groups from several southwestern states has been tentatively planned for the future in order to confront and discuss the role of rank and file police officers in upcoming national elections up to 2012.
