Sergeant David Marty Kieffer

On May 7, 1977, a drunk driver struck Sergeant Kieffer while at the intersection of 16th Street and McDowell. Sergeant Kieffer was rendered a quadriplegic from this accident. He continued to work for the department until retiring on September 13, 1991. On May 21, 1997, he died after succumbing to the injuries he had received twenty years earlier. Sergeant Kieffer was survived by his wife and children.
