Grand Canyon Railway

The Grand Canyon Railway traces its roots back to 1897, when the Santa Fe and Grand Canyon Railroad Company was incorporated and development of the tracks north from Williams began.  On September 17, 1901, the Grand Canyon Railway made its first journey to the Grand Canyon and ended service in 1968 due to reclining ridership.  In 1989, redevelopment of the railway and restoration of the depots began and since then, thousands of people have experienced an entertaining and historic journey to the Grand Canyon from Williams.
