Motorcycle Officer Patrick O. Briggs

On June 20th, 1990, Motorcycle Officer Briggs was killed while pursuing a speeding motorist. Officer Briggs swerved to avoid a motorist and struck a concrete median and tree. He had recently been chosen to be a Recruit Training Officer for the Phoenix Police Training Academy. Officer Briggs was twenty-seven years old at the time of death and had been a member of the department for seven years. He was survived by his parents.
